Dr. April R. Stockfleet is a tenured lecturer (hauptamtliche Dozentin) at the University of Bern, where she teaches Anglo-American Law and the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot courses. She also serves as a member of the International Committee at the Law Faculty.
Dr. Stockfleet holds a Juris Doctor degree from American University's Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. and also earned a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Bern. Prior to going to law school, she completed a B.A. in International Service from American University's School of International Service and a Master of Arts in European Studies from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. During her studies, she was awarded the prestigious national Harry S. Truman Scholarship and was also a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar.
Prior to joining the University of Bern, she worked at Harvard Law School and, earlier, at the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce.
